Unbroken

Yesterday, my sister and I went to the cinema in order to watch the new film directed by Angelina Jolie. The film is based in a real story: it is about a boy of Italian origin but born in the United States. The story is around 1936. Louis Zamperini, was a boy who always get into trouble. Their parents and their brother managed to get him out of his vices and put him in the good way. Zamperini started to run in athleticism and in 1936 he participated in the Olympic games. Later, he joined to the Air Forces to the USA in the World War II (1939-1945). One of the times, their plane crashed and fell into the Pacific Ocean; just three of them survived, Louie between them. They suffer a shipwreck of 46 days. The day 47 they were captured by Japanese, the enemy of USA. From that moment, the life of Louie is a ongoing suffering that doesn't end. He and the others captured suffer constantly the knocking of the Japanese and they were far away from their family. They don't have nothing to do to run away from that hell: just waiting. He had the oportunity to be for the Japanese, exchange not to be maltreated. However, he was loyal and faithful to his country and went on fighting until the end of the war. All men suffer endless tortures. Finally, they were rescued when the war was finished in 1945.
The film is full of symbolism and suffering, the biography of Louie Zamperini is a dramatic and endless story but a great story of survival that get to our heart.

2015

We say goodbye to one year more. The time goes fast and we don't realize every year is shorter. This year has been like any another both good and bad. 2014 has been full of good times, laughs, cries, truths and lies, ups and downs; friends who go and friends who come; births and deaths, crushes and heartbreaks; a year full of changes and failures that we have overcome. However, there isn't a single stone that doesn't help you in your journey. Thus, people start the year with illusion and with the hope that this year will be better than the rest.

Current and past education

From the beginning, people have received an education and have learned basic skills such as learn how to write or how to read. In the recent past, people used to go to school, later many of them went to secondary school and then, just a few ones received a higher education. In spite of that it was easily to find employment in whatever they wanted to work.

On the contrary, nowadays people have a more sound knowledge because of the plenty advantages we have: more public schools, all type of technologies and gadgets and libraries everywhere where we can find the range of subjects and some researches. Besides, we are able to get some aid from the government.

On the other hand, before there were more hard-working people than today. They had to study on their own to get a degree or a title. Even many people wanted to study but their parents couldn't  afford it because they didn't have any money or they denied their children going to school. Thus, they could help their parents in their offices.

As for current education, despite having a lot of aids, pupils don't often attend lectures and it is difficult for them to acquire a qualification. Today, it is considered easily to pass an exam than forty years ago. Also, teachers know more than ever and many of them don't know how to teach their students. Hence, this is one of the reasons why teenagers don't listen to the teachers, since sometimes they can become tedious.

For instance, people who studied sixty years ago got a religious and sexist education. Most women were allowed to study until they were 15 years old. They were educated as a housewife: they were taught to sew, to wash, to bring up their children and to cook. At school they received a basic education and, above all, they learned to pray.

Some of the differences between current and past education are: before people only learned the theory but not the practice. Also, teachers use books or notes. However, today's teachers almost always use a projector and make lessons more pleasant and student can show interest in them; Homework was very conmplicated and students can be hit by the teacher. Nowadays, pupils are always laughing at the teacher. Before, teachers had more rights than students and today students are over the teachers. It seems to be that students nowadays want to get the maximum marks without making a effort.

In brief, I couldn't say that current education is better than past education because every stage of life is different than the others. Nonetheless, it doesn't mean being better or worse. I find past education better in the aspect that people were more responsible even though teachers were harder. Current education could be better due to the advances and developments we have. Therefore, everything is constantly changing in life, even the education.

Christmas

Christmas is a festivity of the christianism where people celebrate the birth of Christ.  It is celebrated the night of the 24th December in great part of the world and most families get together to celebrate it. They eat turkey, cod, pork and lamb and a Christmas tree have place in one corner of the house. They also make the Advent wreath and sing Christmas carols around the hearth. This is a tradicion of the Catholic Church, for instance. Nativity scenes are put on the tables; they represent the Christ's birth where shepherds, animals, The Three Wise Men attend and finally, the star is placed on the top of the tree.

On the other hand, Anglican and Orthodox Church have different ways of celebrate it. Anglican Church also celebrate Christmas the 24th December. However, Orthodox Church celebrate it the 7th January. English speakers use the word Christmas that means the mass of the Christ; spanish speakers use the word "Navidad" to refers to the nativity of the Christ; For instance, in Germany, they day "Frohe Weihnachten" that means the night of blessing.

Despite not believing in Christ, some families celebrate Christmas because it is custom and tradition. Moreover, this is a season of gladness and happiness when people have a rest and reunite with their family. This is a gesture that everybody likes and in Christmas they attempt to be happy and enjoy the holidays. Hence, I love Christmas although currently it is becoming a business because it fill us of illusion and reminds me the best times of my life: it is a time when I am happy and I enjoy being with my family and friends and giving and receiving presents from 'Santa Claus' and 'The Three Wise Men'.

Elephants

Elephant is my favourite animal. The elephant is the biggest terrestrial mammal. It can measure until four metres by high and weigh like 100 people. It is very strong, but he is peaceful: doesn't like fighting. They live in herd and they have an old female as a chief. Moreover, they travel around without ceasing; never settle in one place and look for vegetables and water for drinking. Also they shake their ears when they are getting angry and attack. I love them because they are really clever and lovely. I have a lot of things about elephants and it is like my lucky charm.

10 things that you don't not about elephants:

1. They can't jump.
2. An adult male can weigh between 6-7 tons.
3. The sound they made is known as trumpeting.
4. Elephants can live up to 70 years.
5. Adult elephants sleep standing.
6. Elephants need to eat more than 200 kilos of food a day, so they spend about 16 hours a day eating.
7. They are capable of swimming long distances.
8. When males turn 12 leave the herd and take their own course.
9. They can run at a speed of 40km / h over short distances.
10. They are herbivores and eat mostly grass and bark of trees.

Musicals

From my point of view, musicals are the best theatrical and cinematographic genres. Musical is a very entertaining genre where actresses and actors sing and dance to the sound of music. Through the songs are transmitted the love, the fight, the secrets, the pettiness, the humility, the deeper and purer feeling, the friendship, the relationships and even they transmit positive messages to the society. Furthermore, we get in a situation while we are interpreting a play, since we have to transmit a concise and clear message. Therefore, we became more sensitive to feelings. We also learn to vocalize and speak out avoiding shouting. On the contrary, it is a difficult genre to practise. In fact, the musical was born in USA when a Europe company of dance mixed with a theatre company in 1866.

Some of the best musicals I have ever watched are:

My fair lady

 Moulin Rouge

Grease

 Hair

Chitty Chitty BangBang

 Mary Poppins

My favourite band

I would never say I have a favourite band. However, this band has gone with me every time I have travelled by car. M-Clan CD was bought by my father when it hit the shelves in 2004 and it became one of the best CDs I have ever listened to. Unconsciously, I sing these songs when I am walking and they accompany me. Strangely, the songs has formed part of my life, thus I associate each one to a different moment of my childhood and frame of mind, independently they are good or bad. The song I like the most is "miedo", since it is full of sense and feelings. Now, when I am enough mature, I understand the meaning of this song and every time I like it more. I will translate some parts:

To begin with
I will say this is the end
It is not a happy ending
It is just an end
But it seems to be there is no turning back

Fear
of coming back to the hells
Fear of you to fear me
of having to forget you

Fear
of loving you without want it
of finding you suddenly
of not seeing you anymore
